Roche Diagnostics offers also a tool to support the quality management within clinical
chemistry laboratories. The product is called Quality Control
Service (QCS), which is a modern, international, external quality assurance
program.
QCS is offering various media forms, such as

QCS EASY 4
an extremely comfortable PC Program under Windows ®. EASY 4 is the successor of
the successful EASY II, which is currently placed in more than 1100 access sites
in 17 nations. Many of the valuable features of EASY II remained in the EASY 4.
The EASY 4 consolidates CC / HIA and now also HetIA on the Elecsys® analysers 1010
and 2010. This tool consideres re-assinged target values, influenced by the Elecsys®
reagent lot
The program covers many major elements to support both the Internal Quality Control
(IQC), as well as the External Quality Assurance (EQA). It generates on the spot
QC evaluation and documentation, using pre-programmed target values and ranges.
When participating in an External Quality Assurance scheme, the data can be submitted
at any time either by e-mail or diskette. On a monthly basis, the laboratory receives
multinational statistical reports, including peer group comparisons, presented in
a clear and compact way.

QCS HOST
An ASCII-format to be programmed on laboratory data manager systems. The benefits
are:
- The laboratory can continue using their own data manager system.
- No additional hardware investment to be made.
- No double entry of QC data for participating in an external QC scheme
- Data submission anytime and receipt of a monthly statistical report

QCS-NET
An application which allows QCS participants to download the same statistical reports
as described under EASY 4 - from the Internet.
